Yankee all night!

I recently got interested in scented candles after we moved to our own home.  I'd plan to buy but don't have time to window shop yet cos of the unpacking, cleaning, arranging things and all,  and above all the holidays.

I find the good or probably the best ones are expensive.  I heard that not all scented candles have good scent through and through.  Others smells burnt candles.

Luckily, it was so timing that we received a Christmas gift from a good couple friend of ours.  A candle warmer and large jar of Yankee candle, November Rain as the scent.

The Aurora Candle Warmer Lamp™ is a revolutionary new concept to the candle warming industry. With a patented soft halogen light the Aurora Candle Warmer Lamp creates the ambiance of a burning candle releasing the candle’s fragrance within minutes. All lamps are paired with a frosted white shade.

Made in China.

A rainy fall day stirs up many emotions, as does this intoxicating, masculine, and moody fragrance with deep watery notes. In it, you'll discover the quiet interlude of the season reflected in an airy, refreshing mix of watery leaf notes, warm amber and crisp, brisk air. All perfectly suited for cozying up inside and watching the rain from your window.

The traditional design of our signature jar candle reflects a warm, relaxed sense of style that's always at home. Convenient and easy to use...

I assembled the warmer lamp by myself.  I usually ask my hubby to do this.  But, this morning, I got too excited and I want to use it later ;-)  By the way, I tried it for a few minutes if the lamp works and if the candles really melts - it did and smells good.

That would be all for now.  Excited for laters...hihi ;-))

Merry Christmas!!!

My family and friends enjoyed making the color a cookie snowmen kit I bought few days ago.  I believed this was the last item available in our nearby grocery store.  A great last minute idea for Christmas activity ;-)

Happy Holidays to all!!! ;-)

Flashback Monday: Pirate Ship Cake

About a year ago, I made a special birthday cake for my friend's son.  The theme was pirate.  She send me photos of what the cake should look like.  This was a huge challenged for me cos I'm not really good at this. However, I gave my heart and time in making this cake.  I even cried cos I was really afraid that it will not turn nice.  No worries no tears fell on the cake.  At first, I felt satisfied and proud of what I've accomplished.  My kids liked it.  They said it was nice, even my other friends said that.  I've heard congratulatory remarks :-P   Sadly, I felt less appreciated by the one who requested it...I dunno.  On a side note, I didn't even charged her cos at first when she asked me to, she asked for a charged. Since then, I wasn't inspired anymore to make theme cake :-(

I browsed a lot of pirate ship cake in google and pinterest of how I would go about it.  And here's the result of my hard work :-P

My friend was the one who prepared the paper flag / paper standing.  According to her, it was his son's choice. Oh well...

P.S. the images were just a phone shots.

Tarte Pin up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-hr Blush Palette

When I saw this item on their Instagram account, I can't get my mind of it.  I was waiting and waiting for the availability in Singapore. Finally, I was able to purchased one early this month. No regrets at all!! I love it!!! Everything from the packaging and the blushes are so lovely and amazing.

It has five limited edition Amazonian clay 12-hr blushes plus two vintage-inspired, wearable pins.  The brand new shades are: (from left to right) breathless (pinky beige), embraced (plummy rose), whimsy (light pink), bashful (rosy peach) and irreplaceable (mauve rose).

The only blush I have from tarte is from their cc matte palette, which I also like.  But I like more the pin-up blushes.  By the way, my apologies for the swatches :-p.

Fake up and Secret Camouflage

Laura Mercier Secret Camoflage in SC-2 & Benefit Fake up in 02 Medium

Fake up from Benefit did not work on me.  I actually regret buying it. But I really need to make it work so I did as mentioned on previous post but then I wasn't able to buy a new colorstay concealer.  Instead, I tried it with my Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, guess what?? It works!! The secret camouflage is not meant for under eye cos it is in compact form.  Since the fake up is more of a balm thing which I apply first then the secret camouflage, the result is quite good.  It doesn't look dry and no visible wrinkles or lines appeared. Just be careful on the application on both you don't need much.  By the way, I don't have much of a panda eyes, just puffiness that I need to cover.

If you happen to have both and fake up did not work on you too, I highly suggest that you try it.

Retail Therapy...

I am not in good self for the past few days, it's been more than a week actually.  There's been a lot of issues going on so I am not okay.  Those issues that I have, I haven't spoken to anyone not even my bestie and hubs. Only yesterday and today that I had my retail therapy.  Honestly, as of the moment I felt good.  Retail therapy really works for me.

Yesterday, I bought two items.  First, I went to Dior store and bought a lippy.  I had no plans of buying a new lipstick but when I saw Natalie Portman's new poster for the Rouge Dior Baume, I got so interested in her shade of lipstick.  First I went to Sephora to ask the shade.  The lady said, it's 558 Lili.  Unfortunately, it was out of stock.  So I ended up at Dior store and got lucky, yehey!

The next item is the Benefit Fake up Hydrating Crease-Control Concealer in 02 Medium.  I was hunting for hydrating concealer cos my under eye is a bit on dry side and not much on a dark circle.  I used it today, and I wasn't happy with the result.  It was hydrating but the conceal factor was not there.  In fact my under eye was balmy and even looked sickly, even after the finishing powder.  So I try to use my almost empty Revlon color stay concealer, dab a bit and winner, it was a nice combi :-)  Probably, I will buy a new Revlon color stay and will just use the two together.

By the way, the reason why I really went to Sephora is to check first the Clarisonic items, which I like to have long time ago. What I have by the way is the Olay Regenerist Advanced Cleansing System, it was a sale item.  I wasn't clear yet of the current prices and models available.  Though I read a lot of reviews plus the suggestion of the Sephora consulant, that I buy the Mia 2 instead since I do not have much problem on my face.  Finally, I was able to buy today, however. Yahoo!!  I will try to use this evening...excited!

Lastly, I also bought Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel.  I haven't tried this item yet. I finished Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado and I was really satisfied with the product.  It was really hydrating and when I used concealer it doesn't crease nor shows dryness under my eyes.   I wanted to buy a new one though I wanted to try a new brand.  If ever, after I finished the Laneige, I would definitely go back to Kiehl's.

The important thing, I actually availed my 10% off for the mia 2 and eye gel :-)

So, happy happy :-)

Til nex time....

Going back to work after being a stay-at-home-mom...

courtesy of womenforhire.com

Finally, I got a job after 8 years of being a stay-at-home-mom.  In a few, I will be back to paid workforce. It was really tough, aside from not having a job for long years, I believe my age and staying in a foreign country are great factors of not getting the right job for me.  I doubt if I can go back from my previous career.  Anyways, I am still glad I was given an opportunity.

Aja!! Good luck to me!! ;-)
